30 Day Walking Challenge – Want to Join me?
Is anyone else carrying around more than their fair share of COVID weight? To be fair, I’ve not exactly been all that diligent about taking care of myself, (exercise? what is that?!?) and while I love working from home, having unlimited access to the fridge hasn’t been good for my waistline. I know I am not alone in this so…I decided to try a 30-day challenge. I’m sure you are familiar with the idea. You give yourself 30 days to set off on a journey that, hopefully, improves your life in some way. In my case, I have a vacation on the horizon that I’d really like to feel healthier for so, here we go!
Since exercise is something that requires a fair amount of willpower on my part i decided to add a little extra to my challenge and see if I can also make a point of snapping a photo or two along the way. Who knows, maybe I’ll improve on my photography skills as well!
Day 1 – 1,927 Steps
I started today off with an easy walk. It’s been a while since I tied on my walking shoes so I figured I had better be sensible and start off slowly. Plus, my aging knees aren’t as bendy and happy as they used to be. We’re fortunate that we live near easy walking trails so I took off for those this morning before work. The air was a little humid but it was cooler so, perfect really for a walk. i didn’t encounter any other humans along the way, but I was greeted by one boisterous chocolate lab who was probably trying to tell me what he though of me walking near his yard but I choose to believe he was cheering me on. Especially since dragging my sorry tush out of bed a little earlier today took more determination than anticipated. Did I mention I am not a fan of exercise?
My challenge for you today is to begin a similar journey with me. It doesn’t have to be walking, though It was great to get outside and stretch my legs today. Maybe you want to hone your photography skills, learn how to make bake fancy cakes or dump a bad habit. Whatever it is, give yourself 30 days and see where it takes you. Along the way, I’ll provide updates on my own progress (Geez, I hope there’s progress!) and we’ll see where we are at in 30 days.
Have a great day!
