Hello! Happy New Year (WAY late!) and I hope you are well!
YES, I know that this adorable photo has nothing at all to do with much of the post below (well, except for the candles for Valentine’s Day) but dang, how stupid cute is that dog? I just couldn’t resist. Photo by Anna Shvets on Pexels.com
Hello! Hello! Hello!
I am back after what seems like forever. Goodness, what a month it has been. I’m not gonna lie, when I jumped back into this whole blogging adventure I knew that it would come with its share of ups and downs. What I didn’t anticipate was several weeks of blogger fog where my brain should be, a decided lack of creative energy and well, a holiday or two. The latter brought with it several gatherings with family and friends which I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, but then came the inevitable January cold weather where all I wanted to do was stay under the covers with my cats. So, of course, my blogging and crafting took a hit. In a MAJOR way. Whew. I’ll send up my prayers now that you’ve hung in there and have been patiently waiting for something new from the Heartland. If my New Year’s resolutions carry any weight at all, know that I am striving to do better. Come to think of it, I should probably add in a resolution about that darned weight thing. Who’s with me?
On the upside of all this “vacation time”, I received several great ideas for things to add to my shop which I am working on and I’m also adding in something new (for me); Retreat hosting. More on that to come, in another post, but I have to say I am pretty darned excited about it. I just hope I can do my predecessors justice. I’m following in the footsteps of some truly remarkable women.
So, what’s new you ask?
Well, candles of course lead the way today with four new additions to the shop that are absolutely PERFECT for Valentine’s day. Skip the chocolates, the flowers that wilt and the guilt and head for the Valentine candles! I guarantee, every single one is calorie free (though Chocolate Cherry Bomb won’t seem like it), and they last for a nice long time! Check them out and then, let me know what you think of them in the comment section for whichever scents you choose. I’m always looking for feedback so lay it on me!
Warm, melted chocolate and heady, dark red cherries pair for the perfect combination of lush, fruity sweetness. Chocolate Cherry Bomb smells like the most decadent box of chocolate covered cherries. Dive in and enjoy without any of the calories! *wink*
The bestie and I put this combination together during an afternoon of experimenting. We tinkered with a few other combinations (some with a boozy side), but the chocolate and cherry together really packs a punch so for this I stuck with those two scents and man, oh man. I’m not kidding when I say this candle smells like a box of decadent chocolate covered cherries.
Let romance sweep you away with the scent of mandarin, berries, jasmine, honeysuckle and a hint of dark musk. Perfect for romantic evenings with your sweetheart or when you just need a little Moonlight Serenade. And, don’t we all need that from time to time?
Moonlight Serenade makes me think of romantic walks on a seaside beach. Well, if I had a seaside beach nearby that is. Those are in short supply here in Minnesota, but you get the idea. There’s just enough floral and musk in this one to make it one of those candles you burn for several seasons.
What is more sweetly decadent, soft and luxurious than cashmere? Wrap yourself in warm vanilla, rose, jasmine, orchid, patchouli and sandalwood. Cashmere is elegance in wax and sometimes you just have to indulge.
Warm vanilla leads the way with this smooth and dreamy blend. The florals are light but they come through as the wax heats up and the sandalwood keeps Cashmere from being too sweet and flowery. This one is another that you might find yourself burning throughout the year. Go ahead. Wrap yourself in a little Cashmere.
Say “I Love You” in French with this pretty bouquet of blooms in candle form. Light and flowery, Je t’aime is a lovely blend of fresh lily, sweet magnolia, powder, freesia and peony. Save the flowers & get the candle!
This candle is a nod to my absolute best friend ever who teaches French (at multiple levels) and has coached me through any number of Duolingo lessons where, dang it, I was so sure I had the translation right. I’m happy to say she hasn’t given up on me yet. Maybe I’ll even master it one day. *wink*
My husband likes to joke that, ” those French have a different word for everything!” Well, in the language of romance, even he has to admit how pretty Je t’aime sounds to the ear, and there’s really no better way to say it to this friend of mine who’s so very important to me. Je t’aime Twyla.
And, that, lovelies is a wrap for today. The kitties are wondering why I haven’t fed them and someone just made a big batch of popcorn, the smell of which is a lure that I cannot resist… Of course, I’ve never tried, but really. Why would I?
