Personality Quizzes – Are you game?
I’ve always been curious about those quizzes you find on social media that assign a personality type to whomever partakes in them. I realize many of them are pure bunk, (that’s my logical, pragmatic personality speaking) but from an entertainment standpoint, I have to admit they are, at the very least, amusing.
I did a little digging around on the inter-webs last night and found a few different sites that offer free personality tests or quizzes you can take if you’re the least bit curious about what makes you tick. I may be pragmatic and driven by results and efficiency, but I am also curious about a great many things. Not the least of which is how the 6th child of depression-era parents came to be so seemingly different in personality from others in my family.
16 Personalities
This is one of the better quizzes and sites out there, and the results are not only crazy accurate but pretty in-depth considering it’s free. Bear in mind, your assessment will only be as accurate as the information you share so be honest and you’ll get some really interesting results. This site also has oodles of tools and resources you can dig into if your really get curious!
Who Am I?
This questionnaire platform is picture-based. Basically, you choose the images that fit the question being asked. There are a bunch of questions at the end that you can skip if you want. They’re clearly revenue drivers to help keep the site free but what I liked about this site is that you can download your results without providing an email. So, no worries about getting an inbox full of ads just because you answered random questions. The. results are structured a little differently than 16 Personalities but I found the overall assessment to be very similar which is interesting to me. Who Am I helps you to understand how your personality influences how you approach and look at life.
Test Color
This one is just plain fun. My results (below) are really very similar in many ways to the other two. The test is also quick and easy to take because all you do is rank a palette of colored tiles according to the ones you like and don’t like . Easy peasy, and as I said fun!
What I like about all these quizzes is that you can use them to entertain yourself for a few minutes, or you can dig in a little and learn a bit about yourself. Depending where you are at in life, one may appeal more than another.
Also, if you’re looking for more options for this sort of thing, here’s a good article from The Muse. I hadn’t heard of the Who Am I or the Test Color quizzes prior to reading the article actually, but I thought they were fun. The Muse article also offers some advice on using the results you get from these quizzes to improve your work life and career path. Not a bad proposition all in all if you’re looking for advice on that sort of thing.
And now, I am going to take my decision-making, careful, creative self down the hall to my office and see what sort of progress I can make on the pile of projects I’m currently working on.
Have a great day & happy Wednesday!
