The easiest quiche you’ll EVER make
I’m not sure who Sam is, or how he came up with this recipe, but it’s my number one go-to when I need a delicious breakfast fast and as we head into another weekend, I’m going to share it with all of you. You’re welcome! 😀
An age or so ago, my mother-in-law handed me a fistful of recipe cards that she had been collecting as part of a subscription plan. The cards she gave me were duplicates and she thought I’d like to give them a try. So, I did. Some were so so, others were big winners with my growing family. Sam’s Quiche was a hands-down winner.
That was 30 plus years ago, and I am still making this recipe for visiting friends and family. It works up fast with simple ingredients that you can make even simpler if you go for pre-diced ham, refrigerated pie crust and a bag of shredded cheese. Prep time is a whopping 10 minutes. Seriously, you’ll spend most of that time chopping the onion.
I have made this so many times I have lost count. i’ve made it in at least 4 different ovens, and in both clear glass and stoneware pie dishes and it has never failed me. The crust is flaky, the center perfectly set and it pairs nicely with fresh sliced tomatoes, a simple fruit salad or even a bunch or two of grapes like I have it pictured above. Need to feed more than a few people? No problem. Use both refrigerated pie crusts and make two. Ha! No worries on what to do with that other pie crust!
I actually whipped this up for the hubby and I last night. I MAY have needed to document the steps with photos in order to write this post. It turned out as perfect as always and gave me breakfast for today. Win win!
Give it a try this weekend and let me know how it turns out. I bet you won’t be disappointed!
Have a fantastic weekend everyone!
