It’s a Free for Fall!

Labor Day: The end-of-Summer weekend we all love & lament over

Labor Day: The end-of-Summer weekend we all love & lament over

I love a good long holiday weekend just as much as the next person, but there is something about Labor Day that makes me think ahead (prematurely perhaps) to those long (sometimes endless) winter days that will be here before we know it. Of course […]

Creativity happens in the quiet

Creativity happens in the quiet

Isn’t it funny how the days can slip right by you while you’re busy dealing with the day-to-day? Back in May when I posted last (Good Lord…has it really been that long?!?) I was certain I’d have a plethora of posts begging to be shared. I was fresh from a nice long vacation after all and I certainly had a head full of ideas for all the things I wanted to create! I forgot however, that sometimes creativity takes longer to manifest itself into actual results, and isn’t that just a bit annoying? LOL!

Savoring the too-short Summer

This summer has been a mix of entertaining friends and family, a little travel and lots of time in my craft space designing, testing, and working through production “puzzles”. The result has been the addition of several new bags in various sizes and styles and a couple of yummy new candle scents (Sweet Magnolia or Mango Joy) I’m happy with the progress I’ve made over the Summer and am equally happy that I was able to spend that time with friends and family. The best of both worlds, yes?

PEPITA CITRUS BLACK
Pepita Wallet Clutch in Citrus & Black

So, what’s new?

Ooooo! So many things! I added several new bags to the store and I’ve chosen styles and patterns that are great for lots of different things. Trips to the store, vacations, day-to-day stuff, and of course they’re available in a bunch of different fabrics. Actually, choosing the fabrics has been part of the struggle for me. I might have gotten a little overzealous when I started picking fabrics and now I am in that place where deciding which bag to offer in which pattern is a challenge. Watch for different options to be added and if there is a bag you like and would like to discuss options for color and fabric, reach out to me at Toni@lovefromtheheartland.com and let’s see what we can come up with for you!

The Pepita Clutch Wallet

pepita wallet asst

The Pepita Clutch Wallet is a slim, multi-pocket wallet that has all the slots you need to hold your necessary credit cards and cash for quick trips to the market. It will even hold a cell phone (I photographed it with my iPhone 11 in a case and it fits easily) The Pepita has a zippered pocket on the back that’s perfect for coins and I’m offering it in five different prints that, I think, are pretty darned cute. Who says wallets have to be boring?

Up next, a little more about The Traveler – a versatile cross-body bag with oodles of expandable pockets that is a fantastic addition to your travel accessories. (tease, tease…)

Have a great week!

Cute and a little quirky, but still big enough to hold a few small essentials.

To make way for the new!

I will soon be dropping NEW versions of the Lil’ Zipper and the Midi Zip pouch which feature an offset zipper. The overall dimensions of both remain the same, but the placement of the zipper is just a bit below the top. All in all, the look is much more pleasing on these. Fresh Tutorials & NEW Card Kits in Store!

Fresh Tutorials & NEW Card Kits in Store!

You’ve asked, so I’m answering

I have been making hand-made cards for many years now and have sold them in a few different places but I’ve held off putting them here on my site. Honestly, I’m still working out how I might want to approach that because, while I have tons of cards at hand, they’re nearly all singles so listing them on the site would be something akin to torture. Just thinking about all those listings makes me shiver. On the other hand, I am frequently asked “When are you going to offer cards for sale?” and since my pledge for this website is to offer things that people want I have myself quite the dilemma!

All because of a love of teaching crafts

Way back when I was a demonstrator for Stampin’ Up! (MANY moons ago) the thing I liked best about all those home shows was teaching people how to stamp and make their own cards. Even after I gave up demonstrating officially, I hosted several classes, card making events and lunchtime card days just because I love the teaching part. Fast forward to today and my dilemma for how to offer cards. It occurred to me that offering kits and tutorials might be the perfect way to keep my teaching skills polished while sharing the fun of creating a handmade card with all of you.

Without further ado, I’m happy to report I now have Assemble-at -Home card kits available in the store. And….I’ve got step by step tutorials to go right along with them! If you’re a veteran stamper with oodles of supplies, feel free to use the tutorials to make the cards with what you have, but if you don’t want to make that sort of investment, buy the kit and all you have to do is assemble! Even better, ALL the necessary parts and pieces are included in each kit. The only things you will need to supply yourself are a paper-friendly adhesive (I recommend a tape runner type of adhesive rather than glue, or a good double-stick tape), and a pair of scissors. The cards can all be assembled in just a few short minutes because all the stamping, punching and die-cutting is done for you!

I’ve got 4 kits and tutorials ready so far, and am working on several others. My goal is to keep the designs simple enough that assembly only takes a few minutes and still gives you a special card to give to someone. Of course, if you have any special requests for the types of cards you would like to see, drop a note in the comments and I’ll do what I can to come up with something.

I hope you’ll give the kits a try and let me know how you like them. Even better, let me know what your lucky recipient says!
